I own a Viera plasma as well and Panasonic continues to set the standard of non-premium level televisions. Great picture, super functional. Don't lose your remote as there are no controls on the TV that I've found yet! Calibration information is not yet available on the the internet so you're on your own, although the "standard" picture with the backlight lowered to about 35 is just about perfect. 12/6 this TV was on sale for $539 at HH Gregg wtih 12 months no interest

I was forced to buy a 37 inch TV due to the size limitation of the built-in TV cabinet. The set up was easy (10 minutes.) The picture quality is great. A friend brought over a color setup DVD and fine tuned the color , brightness & contrast. I am pleased with this TV and consider it a good value.

The Panasonic TC-L37S1 was easily the most exciting purchase I've made this year. I was looking for a television in the 32" to 37" range for the size of the room which it would be placed, and did a lot of research on the selection offered by Amazon and other electronic websites. When I came upon the page for this model I was instantly sold. For the range of features and technical specs at such a great price, I was almost in disbelief.
Since it was such a new model (released about mid 2009), I was not able to find it in stores, but compared similar models in person to the specs of the TC-L37S1. I was pretty sure I was getting a good tv by buying this one. When it was delivered, it didn't take me more than 5 minutes to unpack and set up. I was amazed by the picture speed, brightness and quality. I hooked up my Playstation 3 via HDMI cable and my jaw literally dropped. Despite being a 60 Hz television, I'm guessing the response time (8 ms) and Motion Focus technology really makes watching a bluray movie seem like real time video.

I just bought this TV a week ago. I'd been browsing electronics stores for a couple of years waiting for the right deal on the right HDTV. Like most people, I noticed the Sony and Samsung TVs stood out from the rest. However, I will put the picture quality of this Panasonic up against any Sony or Samsung. HD channels look great and Blu-rays look even better.
My only complaint is there is sometimes a slight echo effect in the sound. It's not that noiceable but it is there about 10% of the time. I've remedied that problem by purchasing an optical audio cable and running it through my Samsung receiver with 5.1 surround sound. I would have chosen to go this route anyway because, as we all know, flat panel HDTVs have terrible sound right out of the box. You just can't get good sound out of something that thin.
That minor complaint aside, I'm very happy with my purchase. And since I've never had a problem with any of the Panasonic products I've ever bought, I plan on having this TV for a very long time.
