I used this unit to mount my 58" Plasma on the wall. It is beefy enough and holds the unit securely in whatever position you place it. However it is not easy to adjust. In order to point the TV to the side it must be pulled out from the wall first. This requires a great deal of strength (and confidence that you won't yank your $2K investment off the mount). My wife is not strong enough to pull it out from the wall. It may be that with a smaller and lighter screen it requires less strength to operate, but loaded up like this it is very rigid.
It is easy to swing the screen so the back of the unit bangs against the wall. This is probably inevitable in a mount that is designed to operate on such a wide range of screen sizes. If you grab the left edge of the screen and pull out, then the right side of the screen smashes straight into the wall. A better engineered articulation would have made moved the center out as it angled it. If you are careful (as you should be) then this is not a huge issue...but if your testosterone amped teenager is in a rush to play games he may not be so responsible.
Mounting this can be tricky. Basically the unit consists of a large flat plate with lots of holes in it that must be mounted flat on the wall making sure you find the studs with the lag bolts. The problem is that the plate is only 19.5" wide so even with all the available mounting holes you can only move it sideways about 3" from centered on a pair of 16" studs. When your house was constructed did they plan on centering the studs nicely inside your wall? Probably not. Depending on how wide the mounting on the back of your screen is, there can be quite a bit of adjustment for where it sits on this mount which gives more leeway to get your screen centered on the wall. In my case I could move the screen 3.5" either side of centered on the mount. But this does cause the articulating point to be uncentered. I was fortunate that the studs were about 4 inches off center so I got 3 inches from the mount plate and put the screen offcenter on the mount the remaining inch. Even when the screen was centered on the mount the articulation was way too tight but I'm sure that being off-center makes it worse. As previous reviewers have noted if you don't have 16" studs then you can't use the mount at all (though I am not sure I would want to hang a 60" screen off a less substantial wall anyway).
The articulation does not have any provision for routing cables. I was able to run them so they provided full range of motion without getting scissored in the mechanism but it would have been nice to have this thought out better.
The screen is not quite as flat against the wall as it could be. If you just spent an extra $1K for an ultra thin LED screen it may be disconcerting to have it hanging 6" off the wall. But my plasma is thicker and I knew what to expect.
I think this is the same as the Cheetah mount with similar specs. It certainly very similar design and manufacturing to the smaller Cheetah unit I used for another TV elsewhere in the house.
All in all this is great price for a sturdy unit. If you can use it on your wall and you don't plan on adjusting the articulation often then it will hold up an elephant.

Very easy to assemble & attach to wall. Also the part to attach to tv was simple. Very strong !! Also love the way it can move out & around so you can watch tv from several locations !!! Just what we wanted. We did have to put a few drops of lubracant on it to make it easier to move around. No big deal. LOVE IT !!!

I am very happy with the Opteka 100 Dual-arm TV mount. I was looking for a LCD mount that was heavy-duty enough to mount my 47" LCD in a corner of a room. This worked perfectly. It took me about 30 minutes to instal. The instructions could be better. But if your smart enough to find a stud in a wall to anchor to, you can figure out what the instructions are lacking. I am very impressed at how sturdy and well built this thing is. After I put it an the wall, I extended the arms out and hung from the arms. I only weigh about 160lbs, but it didn't budge. I would recommend this to anyone.

The mount itself is pretty solid. The movement is pretty clunky with my 54" tv. The lag screws provided with the mount to bolt it to the wall are worthless. I twisted two of them off in half just by screwing them in by hand. This was after pre-drilling the first hole as suggested by the manual and then again after pre-drilling with a larger bit than suggested. I would not trust an expensive television to the provided screws. I ended up running to home depot and purchased 4 stainless steal replacements instead. Overall, this mount seems to be above average for a below average price. Can't beat that. [5 stars for price; 4 stars for the mount itself; 3 stars taking the screws into account]

I bought this opteka tv mount for 129 and they sent me the cheap 79 dollar am-650! They look similar and if it wasn't for my keen eye, I might have missed that the model numbers were not the same. It clearly says on my box that it is the am-650 but then they put stickers over it saying it was the more expensive hrm-100. I am disgusted. This was a blatant attempt to make me pay more for the cheaper version. When I ordered the hrm-100.....it said it was in stock and now it says that it is a few weeks out until available for shipping. SO I assume, they had no more to send me and so they figured they would try and send me the cheap version to see if I would notice. HORRIBLE to do things like this to people. I purposely ordered the heavy duty mount bc the 50 inch plasma I bought hubby for Christmas is super heavy. What if I had hung it on this mount and it fell and my Husbands new tv was destroyed? Guess that doesn't matter. Shame on you Amazon! I could understand if it was an honest mistake but it wasn't! You purposely tried to hide it with stickers!
