This smaller diameter set is often, as in my case, placed in a bedroom, where you would like the option to use headphones to as not to disturb your neighbors or mate. There is NO headphone jack. Samsung took it out also for this size unit, and Panasonic lacks even RCA audio jacks. With some Radio Shack fittings, I was able to rig up my headphones to the RCA audio jacks that are there for connection to a stereo receiver, but since this audio out lacks an amplifier, the headphone volume is fairly low. This complaint aside, the Sony 26 inch LCD set is very fine, easy to set up, with simple menus and remote buttons. I even was able to connect my backup recording VCR (via a separate antenna and converter box), knowing of course that the quality would be poor. My living room has as large Panasonic plasma HDTV and DVD recorder that uses DVD-ROM disks. Thus, for its particular purpose the Sony Bravia set is a good and probably dependable choice.

This is, without hesitation, the best TV I have ever had. Soooo easy to set up....it seemed to have set itself up. Picture is clear as anything, and I don't even have high definition yet!! Sound is good..don't find that there is any distortion nor muffling. The only possible drawbacks are with the "new" technology per se, which is common to ALL TV's: 1- Sound volume will vary from channel to channel, and sometimes even from program to commercial, so one has to constantly be prepared to adjust accordingly. This did not happen with my old set, as there was some way that sound could be regulated to be consistent, so there is no "improvement" on that score. and 2- Again, "new technology" is with the picture size variations one sometimes need to play with in order to achieve a comfortable viewing format. However, as I mentioned before, these changes have nothing to do with the actual Bravia TV, but with the technology employed.
All in all, an excellent choice if you are in the market for a new TV. Sony (Bravia) is the one!

I purchased a Sharp before I bought this television, trying to save some money.
It was trouble from the start. My other televisions were Sony brand and they've
played fine for years. Why did I buy differently, a momentary lapse of good sense.
I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Purchased the smaller screen so we could fit it in existing cabniet. Very pleased with the product, great picture. Took some effort to learn how to use new features along with an older model VCR player.
